These experiences are based on the idea that young people should be regarded as resources to be developed. 2002 marked the centennial of 4-H and a renewed commitment to helping shape youth and communities. In looking to the next century, 4-H further develops its programs and continues its motto of "Making the Best Better."

Slogan: Making the Best Better |

4-H members are more likely than other youth to report that they:
. Succeed in school, getting more A's than other students
. Are more involved as leaders in their school and community
. Are looked up to as role models
. Help others in the community
Youth who participate in any organized out-of-school activities are less likely to engage in a variety of at-risk behaviors. 4-H Youth Development members were less likely than their non-4-H Youth Development classmates to use drugs, or smoke. 4-H Youth Development members also had a significantly more positive outlook on life and the world around them than did non-4-H Youth Development members. |
4-H program delivery is county-based. Contact your local Colorado State University Extension office (see the government pages, under "county") for specific opportunities.
4-H Mission: 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults.
4-H Vision: A world in which youth and adults learn, grow and work together as catalysts for positive change. |
