KIDS IN THE GARDEN
Teachers of kindergarten through sixth grade can arrange for a guided tour of the Alaska Botanical Garden complete with grade appropriate activities. Tours include four rotations lasting 45 minutes each and integrate a focus lesson with three hands-on activities throughout the Garden. Developed and taught by retired school teachers, activities are designed to support Anchorage School District curricula.

Participants bring a sack lunch and should wear warm, comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes as activities are outdoors. Port-a-potties are available but there are no indoor facilities.

Tours are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from the beginning of the school year through mid-October (dependent on snow conditions) and from mid-April to the end of the school year. Each tour is limited to 60 students.

To arrange a tour contact the Anchorage School District Community Resource Center at (907) 742-4146.
