Cherry Creek State Park is Denver 's natural and spacious backyard playground; just south of Denver It is anchored around an 880 surface acre reservoir. The park offers a natural prairie environment of gentle, rolling hills. Community Sailing operates out of the marina located in the north west corner of the park.
Standley Lake is in the northwestern suburbs of Denver between the cities of Westminster and Arvada . This lovely grassland area features sweeping views of the mountains and a 1000 acre lake. Standley Lake Regional Park has a unique bald eagle sanctuary, operated by Jefferson County Open Space, in the northwest corner of the park. |
Community Sailing of Colorado hosts a day camp that teaches boys and girls how to sail. We offer a summer sailing program at Standley Lake Regional Park in Westminster/Arvada and at Cherry Creek State Park in Greenwood Village . Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, Monday through Friday. Community Sailing offers beginning, intermediate, racing and advanced sailing to children, ages 8-17. A popular program with kids and parents is our Drop-In sailing program (cost $390 for 40 days). Kids can learn to sail and spend the entire summer at the lake sailing in our Drop-In program. Sailing is a healthy outdoor activity; an activity that can be competitive or it can be a non-competitive unhurried solitary or social experience for children. Kids sail solo or with friends, they can voyage across the lake, partake in pirate day, race other juniors, help teach new junior sailors and play watermellon tag.
