You'll try things this summer that you never thought you'd try. However, you'll never be pushed into doing anything you don't want to, but you'll get lots of support and encouragement from what we believe is the best camp staff you'll find anywhere.
And while lots of new, fun activities and friends may be enough for you, your parents will appreciate an ACA accredited summer camp that highly values not only your physical safety but your emotional safety as well. Shaffer's High Sierra Summer Camps operates overnight summer camp sessions from one to seven weeks in length. The summer camps are for kids 8 to 17 years old and feature a summer camp program with an emphasis on noncompetitive, largely team-based wilderness adventure activities.

Shaffer's High Sierra Summer Camps is located in California 's famed Tahoe National Forest , nestled on the peaceful headwaters of the North Yuba River among pine and 200' fir trees. It's a short 10 minute ride to the Lakes Basin Recreation Area, with 70+ pristine mountain lakes and miles and miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails. The spectacular Sierra Buttes frame beautiful lakes and provide a perch from which you can see up to 150 miles. The natural beauty is incomparable, the variety of destinations hard to beat. Activities.
Shaffer's High Sierra Summer Camps focuses on noncompetitive, team-based wilderness adventure activities. While competition has its place, we bet you get enough competition in academics, sports, and after school programs. We want you to try new things, to stretch yourself, and we believe you'll be more successful if you are not worried about not being good enough, or worse, failing. Our program frees you to have fun, gain skills, and build self-confidence by challenging yourself and gaining skills!
