In the course On Writing: Writing for the Writer and Non-Writer, you will develop and stregthen your writing skills through practicing the elements of good writing. Follow the sage advice of writing guru's such as E.B. White, William Zinsser, Natalie Goldberg,Stephen King, Ralph Fletcher and more to inspire and guide your writing. Play with a variety of genres and styles of writing approaches. Create a writing portfolio to include a writer's notebook, a writer's journal, drafts and revisions. Produce and go public with one piece of writing. Use the exercises for developing an authentic and powerful writing practice in your curriculum and instruction, K-12. Use the writing samples you create for this class as mentor texts in your classroom to demonstrate that you, too, are a writer among writers.. This content-based professional development course will inspire the writer within and enhance the teaching of writing. Meets Common Core State Standards in Writing.
