School History:

Dallas International School was founded in 1991 to address the needs of French employees who were being relocated to the Dallas area through foreign-based corporations. Featuring a curriculum combined with that of the French Ministry of National Education and English language arts, the employees' children were offered the best of both countries.
As time passed, American families in the Dallas area became interested in the bilingual education offered at DIS and enrollment increased.
Spanish instruction was added to all grade levels in 2005 to meet the growing demand of families in North Texas. The school was accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization in 2007 and is the only school to offer the highly regarded Bilingual IB Diploma in the Dallas metroplex. DIS hold a year-long cultural study across all grade levels of a chosen country that further support is mission of cultural tolerance. Today DIS has more than 600 students of over 50 different backgrounds. Approximately 60% are American, 30% French speaking countries and the remaining 10% from other nations.
