Mission Statement:

The mission of the Geneva City School District is to educate and graduate all students with the essential skills and knowledge to live lives of consequence.

District Characteristics: The Geneva City School District serves approximately 2,200 students grades K through 12 and 85 preschool students ages 3 and 4 through our Head Start program. The District is comprised of a high school, middle school, two elementary schools (grades Pre-K to 2 and grades 3-5), district administrative offices and our central services facility.
School Municipalities: Geneva and parts of Phelps, Penn Yan and Waterloo
Demographics:

The Geneva City School District is a microcosm of this. Our student population is comprised of approximately 13 percent African-American, 26 percent Hispanic, 2 percent Asian, 50 percent Caucasian, and others. Our students are unusually well prepared to interact effectively with people of varied backgrounds and experiences.

A.P. Classes: Advance Placement offerings encompass 15 academic courses of study. In addition, we offer six Gemini courses which offer the opportunity for our students to receive credit from Finger Lakes Community College, and our students also have the option of taking courses at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Notes/School Information:

The city school district benefits from a close relationship with known educational neighbors like Hobart and William Smith Colleges, the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, Finger Lakes Community College and more. Our professionals engage in pre-service mentoring, professional development activities, serve as adjunct faculty and obtain advanced credentialing through these institutions.
