To make history relevant, interesting, and fun; to engage and enhance our community; to preserve the rich history and cultural heritage of Central Florida; to create and nurture an environment for community involvement; to provide a place for non-partisan dialogue.
Program History:
With roots goving back to the 1940s as an historical society, the historical museum was founded in 1971; on Sept. 29, 2000, the name was changed to the Orange County Regional History Center and moved to the renovated 1927 Orange County Courthouse in downtown Orlando.
Events:
Several throughout the year, including Johy Young History Maker, bi-monthly Brown Bag Lunch & Learn, twice a year Artists and Authors, Halloween Safe Zone, and Holiday in the Square to name a few.
