RGS is a non-profit educational organization that offers an in-depth visual arts program for young people and adults. Founded in 1976, the school is based on the belief that each person has artistic and creative capacities, which when nutured, will find uniques and valuable expresson. It is our challenge to inspire a love for art, to open the possiblity of art as a vital force in a person's life, and skills necessary for artistic growth and expression. The school is located on Main Street in Brattleboro, VT. The studios are large and beautifully situated offering views of the Whetstone Brook, bustling street scene, and Mt Wantastiquet in the distance.

Classes are small, and projects which students develop individually with the instructors may be pursued several weeks, encouraging an in-depth aproach and intensity of experience. Children are encouraged to express their real and imaginary worlds in a climate where trust, self-confidence and acceptance may grow. A balance is sought beween preserving the child's natural creativity and providing the skills and discipline necessary for deeper expression to unfold.
