Mission Statement:

Invisible Youth Network is an expansive network that provides resources and support for an estimated 1.6 to 1.7 million homeless youth walking the streets of our cities.

Our influence is felt every day in cities all across America. Our mission is carried out through both partner organizations and volunteers who take to the streets to find, stabilize and otherwise help homeless youth to improve their quality of life.

Our focus reaches past the streets and lends itself to deterrence, research, resources, seminars, training and workshops that are provided to the communities and via the Internet. Despite our motto Advocating for America's Youth, our endeavors are focused on all homeless youth with no regard to their geographic location. Mahatma Gandhi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world", and with that in mind, The Invisible Youth Network envisions better lives for children who cannot see it themselves.

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

Our Vision Statement is to become the largest and most effective homeless youth organization in San Diego, County, California, and on a National and International Level!

Program History:

Organized and founded on March 26, 2007.

Living on The Edge

The estimate is now 8 thousand homeless youth walking the streets of San Diego County, California and living on the edge every day in every way, for example:

“According to the National Conference of State Legislatures Five thousand homeless youth die each year from assault.”

That is equivalent to five high schools of students each year.

For some time the Invisible Youth Network has been kicking around the idea of putting together a camp in North County for the homeless kids of San Diego County, California, in the form of the various camps that you may enroll your kids in during summer break from school, the exception Camp Edge would be open year around.

Sometime ago the Invisible Youth Network was offered a parcel of land in North County for this purpose, the land was not developed in anyway and was isolated considerably.

What we have decided in the meantime is to have a series of fund raisers to purchase a ranch with all of the amenities of a ranch, and run Camp Edge as a ranch.

We have several fund raisers scheduled for this summer.

We hope to be breaking ground at Camp Edge no later than 18 months, if not sooner.

As the kids say, "we need the money honey," well at least back in my day.

Camp Edge will be named after and dedicated to a young man who lives not far from Toronto, Canada and spends a great deal of time hanging-out with the homeless youth in Toronto.

He goes by the name of Edge, and he said that he is always living on the Edge.

Edge certainly lives on the Edge he has had more negative experiences in his young life than anyone should have to experience.

In the last two years plus Edge has organized many runs in Toronto, Canada for the Invisible Youth Network and donated the funds raised to the homeless kids of San Diego County, California.

Edge’s donations make a huge difference in our homeless Street kids having their basic needs met from day to day.

Edge is an icon to many of the kids, many of them carry his picture in their pockets and I lost count on how many copies of his picture that we had to have made for these kids.

Camp Edge is our way of thanking Edge for being a big brother to these kids and looking out for them.
