Transfer and first-time college students interested in the health informatics field should consider the bachelor's in health information management at IUPUI. This entirely online program conveys in-demand medical, administrative, and IT skills and knowledge. As courses do not use set meeting times, students can create their own study schedules. Full-time students typically earn their degrees in four years. Graduates work as patient advocates, private consultants, and patient privacy experts.
The 120-credit health informatics degree online features a robust general education curriculum. The major curriculum features coursework in health information research and analysis, quantitative analysis of health information, and two professional practica in health information management.
The program also boasts a specialized Registered Health Information Administrator exam preparation course. IUPUI provides many services to online students, including an online learning orientation, success coaches, academic support, and career counseling.
