Beaches, walking and cycling trails are all within 10 minutes walk of the school. While the school's footprint is relatively small, facilities onsite include classrooms, specialist laboratory and technical spaces (including recording studio), film and drama spaces, rehersal rooms; two gymnasia, sports fields and pavilions as well as a 100 bed onsite boarding facility. We are within 1.5 km of Wellington's indoor sports centre and 3 km from the indoor Olympic swimming and diving centre. Our Sailing academy is located 2.5 km from the school on the harbour's Evans Bay.

To educate by delivering a personalised, holistic education that allows our students to flourish now and in the future as global citizens who are collaborative, think creatively, reason critically, and communicate effectively as they Learn. For Life.

Founding Statement
Scots College was established by the Presbyterian Church and remains affiliated to the Church. In his proposition to create the College in 1916, Dr Gibb wrote:

“The aim of the College is to build up strong Christian character on a broad religious basis and to train for useful and loyal citizenship and service, and to these ends first and foremost the courses of study and subsidiary institutions of the school will be directed. The guiding principle in framing the course of study will be the claims of the individual boy whose special needs will receive careful attention. Classes will be kept small to secure this particular care.”

A New Zealand student visa is required for all fee-paying international students.

Full boarding for students in years 9 - 13 available; homestay accommodation is also available on request.

We employ Gap tutors (4 to 5 annually) to work in our boarding house, act as teacher aides and sports coaches. Applications can be made to the Director of Boarding or via the enquiries email.
