Requirements: As part of the application process, you will be asked to submit the following:
1. Information about you:
• your full name, address, and phone number;
• activities, Awards, and Honors;
• information about the post-secondary school you plan to attend; and
• your educational and career goals.
2. A current, complete transcript of grades (academic record). Transcripts must display student
name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was
taken.
• Students in their final year of high school/secondary school and students who have not
completed a full year of college/university must send copies of their official final grades/
marks from the past three or four years of (upper) secondary school and copies of their
end-of-year exam results if applicable; or
• Students who have completed one full year or more of college/university level courses
should send a copy of their official college/university academic record for each year
through the most recent grading/marking period.
3. Essay OR Video. Share your vision for a non-fiction book that has the potential to become a
timeless handbook for humanity. The task involves presenting a well-thought-out explanation as
to why the chosen book holds this significant role. You have the flexibility to express your ideas
either through a written essay, limited to a maximum of 500 words, or through a video
presentation on YouTube not exceeding 2 minutes in duration. If you opt for a video
presentation, please include a link to your video on YouTube with the title “Headway App
Scholarship for Book Lovers [year]” (i.e., Headway App Scholarship for Book Lovers 2024).
Additionally, in the video description, provide the following text: “Embark on my vision for a
timeless non-fiction handbook in my Headway App Scholarship submission. Explore the essence
of my proposed book and its literary significance. Join the discussion and visit https://
makeheadway.com/ to enhance your reading experience with Headway, a dynamic book
summary app!”
4. A letter of recommendation. The letter must be from a faculty or staff member at your school or
a member of the community that has worked with you in a supervisory role. The letter of
recommendation should be original and should not be duplicates of college recommendation
letters. Applicants are not permitted to include relatives as references.
All correspondence throughout the application process is sent by email. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to
monitor your email account for messages from us. Students failing to provide a valid, active email
account that will accommodate bulk mail may not receive consideration.
Eligibility: Students are eligible to apply for the Scholarship provided that they: • are citizens of the United States; • are at least 16 years old; • are in their final year of high school, secondary school, (upper) secondary school graduates, or current college/university undergraduates; • have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; • demonstrate leadership at school and/or in the community; and • will be enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school within the United States for the entire academic year in which the Scholarship is awarded.

Renewable: The Scholarship is non-renewable. A total of 1 (one) scholarship will be awarded each year.
