Amount of Scholarship: $500/$1000; monies are to be used to fund tuition, books and supplies.

Available to Class Level: Freshman, Sophomore and Senior
Requirements: Applicants that have a sensory impairment or physical disability who will need to identify how a scholarship will support their educational aspirations and career goals. Selection emphasis is placed on the applicants' intentions and achievements rather than solely on his/her graduation ranking.
Eligibility: US Citizen; Have a sensory impairment or physical disability; Minnesota resident or participant in Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute services; High school diploma or GED; Enrolled in an accredited institution as an undergraduate student or in a technical college; Demonstrated ability to be an achiever; Demonstrated financial need and merit; Satisfactory academic progress maintained as a full-time student. Must provide periodic progress updates; Statement of Intention essay must be included; a personal interview is required for all scholarship finalists. Scholarship awards are subject to the approval of the scholarship committee.
Due Date: May 31 of every year. Scholarships are awarded in July of every year.
Purpose of Award: The Scholarship is intended to assist people who have a sensory impairment or physical disability who want to pursue educational goals or gain technical expertise beyond high school.
Duration: One Year
Renewable: Awardees can reapply every year
Need-based Scholarship: Selection emphasis is placed on the applicants’ intentions and achievements rather than solely on his/her graduation ranking.

The Scholarship for People with Disabilities was originated in 1987 by Sally and Melvin Mooty and has been administered by Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.
