Computer Capabilities:
10 Public Access Computers; 4 children's computers with educational games without Internet access; Wireless available
Summer Programs: Summer Reading Program for children having finished Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Membership Details:
Library cards available with two forms of ID - one must be a picture ID - one must have a current local address (utility bill) if the address on photo ID is not current. The first card is free, replacement card are $3. A wallet card and a key card are given.
Library History:
The present library building opened in 1979 replacing the former schoolhouse building. The former library name was the Stonewall Jackson Regional Library and had at one time provided bookmobile service to Harrison, Lewis and Upshur Counties. When Lewis County could no longer fund their portion of the Bookmobile Service in 1981, the name became the Upshur County Public Library and Bookmobile service stopped. Harrison County had withdrawn earlier.
