Dr. William Truesdale has been featured in members spotlight from the Chicago Principal Administrators Assocaition L.A.M.P., Phi Delta Kappan and the Illinois Principals Association.
Dr. William Truesdale has presented on the Break Through Schools Model at national conferences for the N.A.S.S.P., National Assocaition of Middle School and Secondary Schools, A.A.S.A. American Assocaition of School Administrators, N.M.S.A. National Middle School Associaiton.
Dr. William Truesdale published first study as a book on peer coaching in Chicago Public Schools on Peer Coaching on the Transferability of Staff Development to Classroom Practice.

All Douglas Taylor students' goal to become confident, capable, readers, who will read for pleasure and knowledge for the rest of their lives and who are able to write well for a variety of purposes.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
As a Literacy and Writing Magnet Cluster School, Douglas Taylor School will involve the total community ( students, parents, staff, and community members ) in creating and implementing an educational program emphasizing reading that will enable each student to develop his or her potential to the fullest extent possible.
School History:
Taylor School is named after real estate entrepreneur Douglas S. Taylor who donated $ 2,000 to begin the school in 1895
The school has pictures in the first floor north hallway of every graduating class since 1895
Eight staff members graduated as students from Taylor School and now serve the school community as teachers and teaching assistants.
