Admissions Requirements:
Applications are submitted through the Los Angeles Unified School District using the CHOICES application. Applications are mailed to all LAUSD students in November of each year. Applications may also be picked up at school sites.
Admissions Deadline: December of each year. Late and walk-in applications are accepted

Van Nuys Middle School Math/Science Magnet believes that all students can learn! But at the same time we are cognizant that individual students may have specific challenges to navigate as they proceed through their educational experience. By offering an enriched and varied core curriculum that draws upon this triumvirate, we attempt to instill in students a lifelong love of learning.

Van Nuys Middle School, Math/Science Magnet, serves 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Van Nuys has a capacity of 198 students and prides itself in providing a personalized and nurturing academic program for all students. Our Magnet offers an enriched and integrated science and mathematics program along with a strong, academically rigorous, humanities component. Magnet students have access to all elective classes offered in the resident school and are an integral component of the music and drama programs.
