Mission Statement:
The Arc of the Gulf Coast supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in their quest for self-determination, ensuring that they have meaningful lives in the communities where they live, learn, work, play and worship - responding to their needs, one person at a time.
Membership Fee: $15 per year
Eligibility Requirements: Individuals with an intellectual and/or developmental disability acquired before age 22, their families, professionals, experts, advocates, and other community stakeholders
Area Served: Brazoria and Galveston Counties
Hours of Operation/Schedule: Office hours 8-4:30 weekdays, evenings and weekends by appointment
Events:
Since 1969, The Arc of the Gulf Coast has been supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they navigate the often difficult and confusing paths to education, employment and independent and supported living. The Arc’s staff and expert volunteers provide advocacy and advice for individuals and families on decisions regarding education, transition, employment, guardianship, and other important issues. The Arc has a vast network of resources and can help individuals and their families to obtain the information and resources they need to ensure meaningful lives in the communities where they live.
