History:
Since 1963, the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDAA/LDA) and since 1980 the Learning Disabilities Association of Maine (LDA-ME/LDA) have provided support to people with specific learning disabilities (SLD/LD), their parents, teachers and other professionals. At the national, state and local levels, LDA provides cutting edge information on specific learning disabilities and its co-existing disorders, practical solutions, and a comprehensive network of resources. These services make the Learning Disabilities Association of America the leading resource for information on SLD.
LDA believes that every person with specific learning disabilities can be successful at school, at work, in relationships, and in the community -- given the right opportunities.
