Mission Statement:
To empower people with psychiatric disabilities to live quality lives in their communities. To empower family members to become partners with mental health consumers and professionals in the treatment and recovery process. To link people who have mental health treatment needs to available services and resources. To fill gaps in the Morris County mental health service system, modeling effective high-quality programs and services which are responsive to consumer needs and preferences. To increase public awareness of mental health and mental illness and to promote mental wellness for everyone. The Mental Health Association envisions a just, humane and healthy society in which all people are accorded respect, dignity, and the opportunity to achieve their full potential free from stigma and prejudice.

Support Groups: Schizophrenics Anonymous, a self help, support group for people diagnosed with Schizophrenia or a related disorder. Meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 7pm-8pm at the Mental Health Association of Morris County offices at 100 Route 46 E, Building C, in Mountain Lakes.
History:
Incorporated in 1953, the Mental Health Association of Morris County is a local chapter of the New Jersey Division of the National Mental Health Association.
