Service Description: support group for caregivers of the mentally ill
Mission Statement:
to assist caregivers,family members on various aspects of mental illness and how to assist their mentally ill relatives . group is run by and for family members. group is the longest run NAMI chapter in CT
Membership Fee: $35 per year (first mtg no charge)
Eligibility Requirements: must be a caregiver or have a family memebr,friend, etc who has mental ilness
Area Served: greater New haven ct county
Hours of Operation/Schedule: 3rd Wednesday of each month, 7:15p.m - 9 p.m

Organized in 1982 , group is the mother of all NAMI chapters in the state. Members of the group have also served as Chairpersons of CAC and disability commissions of New Haven and Hamden, have sponsored law seminars and mental health at Quinnipiac university as well programs with various other agencies. group does not contain mental health professionals unless they have relative with M.I
