Additional Information
It all started when Daria Artem began using her homemade Giant Chocolate Dipped Fortune Cookies to market her PR Company to potential clients in 2002 after she graduated from College with a big dream to open her own business and a knack for PR and baking. Lady Fortunes was born when Daria realized that she was onto something GIGANTIC when her clients and prospects began ordering her cookies- and she dove head first into the Cookie World! After working for almost a year from her humble kitchen at home making cookies well into the nights, Daria and her fiance Yasser decided to invest money from their Wedding fund into a cookie factory. They opened the doors to the first Lady Fortunes Cookie Factory on February 13, 2004 in Northridge, CA. Daria then took to baking, dipping, decorating, packing and shipping her cookies to potential customers and clients and hired a company to help her establish her website, www.LadyFortunes.com
After much trial and error, Daria attended her first Fancy Food Show in New York in July 2004 where she managed to land several large clients including Costco.com and SamsClub.com who agreed to carry her cookies on their e-commerce platforms and have her dropship to cookie lovers all across the Nation.
Daria built the business with her fiance (as official taste tester!) by staying committed to her belief in offering customers products made from the finest gourmet ingredients and shipped nationwide on the quickest turnaround in the industry- same day shipping when orders were placed by Noon PST. She dedicated herself to offering a variety of products and committing to making them to order which would ensure fresh cookies delivered for maximum bite.
As Lady Fortunes continued to grow, so did their product offerings. Lady Fortunes award-winning Giant Gourmet Fortune Cookie was featured on back to back Food Network Specials including Unwrapped and Best of Sweets. Lady Fortunes then introduced its concept of Edible Prints- printing on fondant appliques and decorating chocolate and icing covered cookies and treats that would take personalization to the next level. The company now focuses on developing unique and delicious cookies inspired by customer requests, foods, desserts of all kinds - from Italian Biscotti to Mexican Wedding Cookies- as well as candies and confections.
Lady Fortunes produces private label products for some of the finest retailers and e-tailers, including Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Nieman Marcus, QVC, 1-800Flowers, Harry and David, and many, many more.
