Broad Prize for Urban Education

The Broad Prize for Urban Education recognizes school districts in urban areas for closing the achievement gap improving academic performance of low-income and minority students. It is sponsored by the foundation of philanthropist Eli Broad and includes $500,000 in college scholarships to graduates from the winning district. In most years since the prize program began in 2002.
