Mission Statement:
The mission of Mad Science is to inspire children through science, sparking lifelong imagination and curiosity.
This mission drives all of our programs—from high-energy science shows and hands-on workshops to immersive camps—designed to ignite curiosity and foster a love for STEM learning among children.
Company History:
Mad Science was founded in 1985 in Montreal, Canada, by brothers Ariel and Ron Shlien. What began as a hobby--performing science experiments to entertain neighborhood children--quickly evolved into a thriving business. Their engaging, hands-on approach to science education laid the foundation for a global enrichment company. Today, Mad Science operates over 150 franchise locations in more than 20 countries, delivering interactive STEM programs to millions of children each year.
Mad Science of St. Louis was established in October 1998 by Gavin Kark and Alan Simon, who started the business in the Kark family's basement. Over the past 26 years, it has grown into a leading science enrichment provider in the region, now operating from a spacious office in University City. With a dedicated team of over 30 instructors and staff, Mad Science of St. Louis offers a wide range of programs--including after-school classes, workshops, summer camps, and special events--serving communities throughout Eastern Missouri and Illinois.
