Mission Statement:
Our mission at Autumn Creek is to provide the best care and learning experience for our children to help them expand their curiosity and creativity in a warm, secured and nurturing environment. Our Vision is to be the "premier Preschool and Child Care Center" in the Bay Area. We will work with the families to achieve this vision. Our core values ( Belief in people, Excellence, Trustworthiness & Innovation), will be our guiding principle for our day to day behavior and decisions.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
A new way to help people in child care integrate culturally;responsive care giving with developmentally appropriate practices;helping children to develop self-discipline, self-esteem,problem solving skills, and assisting them in creating a stronger sense of themselves. In the heart of teacher and child interaction, is a simple but heartfelt philosophy;"Teachers must deal with children with humor, compassion, and respect."The importance of modeling the appropriate behavior..giving children options...helping them to understand other viewpoints..allowing children to express their feelings...the concept of re-direction..dealing with the needs of the individual child.
School History:
Established since September 1999 as a premier preschool and child care center in Danville, serving the communities of Danville, San Ramon, Dublin, Alamo, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Pleasant Hill and Pleasanton. We have a great reputation since 25 years serving our community.
Notes/School Information:
Autumn Creek Learning Center has been formed to provide early childhood education in a home like environment that will be conducive to a child's total growth and development.
We are NAEYC Accredited for the last 20 years and we serve chlidren 2 years to School age 12 years old.
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00pm. Lunch and snacks are provided included in the tuition.
A preschool Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), We offer developmentally appropriate programs which teach cognition, literacy, math, science, creative arts, physical skills (fine and gross motor), and social skills for students age 2 through 6 years old. We offer a combination of teacher directed learning activities and child centered learning centers. Our curriculum is based on research in Early Childhood Education that young children learn through active manipulation of the environment and concrete experiences which contribute to concept development. The curriculum encourages children to be actively involved in the learning process, to experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials.
Our 2 year old classroom, The Little Bears, offers a 1:6 teacher to child ratio. Our 3-5 year old classrooms, The Koala Bears (3yr), The Honey Bears (4 yr), or The Grizzly Bears (4.5-5.5yr), offers a 1:8 teacher to child ratio as well as school age transportation and afterschool care.
While music, singing and movement activities are included in our daily curriculum at circle times, an additional music class is included every Tuesday, taught by Miss Jan who has been teaching in our community for many years and shares instruments and songs from around the world with your child. Foreign Language is also included on Fridays, taught by our classroom teachers who are fluent in these additional languages and cultures (Spanish, Cantonese, Sign Language and Hindi). Every Wednesday, we offer a STEM class in each classroom and every Thursday, we offer mindfulness/yoga .All of this plus your child's meals, provided by our full time cook on staff, are all included in tuition. Breakfast is served upon request between the hours of 7am-8am, a 9 am snack, 12 o'clock lunch, and a 3 pm snack will be provided. Dance, Soccer and Tumbling are offered in the mornings for an additional cost.
We offer many schedule options to help meet your families wants and needs. We do also offer a wonderful Summer Program which includes all of our daily curriculum activities as noted above, plus we have a few special activity days where we bring in special vendors for music shows, science activities, animal shows or magicians for mystery and wonder, and more. Also check out our facebook page to see what we have going on currently around the school.
Testimomials:
Our child attended Autumn Creek from ages 2-4 and we had a wonderful experience. The staff feels like family - they cared so much for our child and loved them individually. We also feel our child is so prepared for elementary school because of both the structure of the day and curriculum at Autumn Creek. Asmita and Brogan would also brighten our day every morning and we could feel they really cared about creating a positive and loving environment for families. Our child also has food allergies and we felt safe sending them to Autumn Creek. Most importantly, our child made wonderful friends there, got exposed to many diverse things from music to art to language, and always left with a smile on their face.
We have learned over the years that there is no such thing as a perfect school. There are good people who work very hard to take care of our children and for that, we are grateful for Autumn Creek.

I can't praise ACLC enough for the incredible impact it's had on my daughter's development. Since moving to this daycare last April, we've been thrilled with our choice, especially given its NAEYC accreditation. From the play-based environment she was accustomed to previously, to ACLC's rich educational standards, the transition was made with compassion, understanding, and encouragement.
Watching her progress from the Koala Bear (3-4yr olds) class and now as a Honey Bear (4-5yr olds), has been truly rewarding. The dedication and care from every teacher, old and new, is truly visible. Their ability to engage and guide the children with love and compassion is remarkable. My daughter has found such a nurturing environment, that I'm enrolling her as a Grizzly Bear (the private TK) in the fall. Her emotional and cognitive development are important, and she has all the support she needs from ACLC to ensure she will be ready for Kindergarten when the time comes. I have also enrolled my 1.5yr old for the January session of Little Bears (2-3yrs class), so that he can start once he turns 2.
