Mission Statement:
The mission of Cobalt Institute of Math and Science (CIMS) Academy is to offer a comprehensive high tech academic program in a smaller learning environment that promotes our students to achieve at a higher academic standard.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
We believe that when we expect more, we will get more. We want to create critical thinkers and problem solvers who think outside the box. We believe the CIMS program will help students become competitive in a society where technology is growing faster than time.
We believe: 1. that competitive knowledge promotes higher thinking skills to prepare our students for college, careers, and community growth futures, 2. that reading, writing, and arithmetic are fundamental to learning. 3. integration of the arts supports and encourages creative independent thinkers.
Enrollment Characteristics: Students must meet the standard admissions: Grade C and above, Low Discipline referrals, Good attendance, and Learning is a priority. Students who enter in the 9th grade must have a C or above in Algebra.
School History:
School of Choice began August 12, 2013 -14
Programs and Services:
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Students in the 7th and 8th grades courses include a technology wheel for electives that include biomedical, technology, and engineering. Students in the 9th grade take pathway courses either in biomedical or engineering.
