We use researched based strategies to meet the unique needs of each child. A unique blend of staff members and certified teachers, many of whom are practicing artists, plan weekly performances by and for our students or visiting artists.

School History:
Imagine Schools operates 71 schools in 11 states and the District of Columbia. Each school is uniquely tailored to each community, both in curriculum and structure. As a member of the Imagine Schools' family, schools share a common culture based on shared values and the Six Measures of Excellence. Imagine Schools is full-service charter school management organization. Sharing the same vision, local governing boards partner with Imagine Schools because of the expertise, quality, and programmatic variety. The partnership offers freedom within a sound educational framework.
Founded in 2004 by Dennis and Eileen Bakke, the Imagine Schools' team is passionate about creating a dynamic learning environment and putting teachers and school leaders squarely in charge of the decisions affecting the schools they serve. All Imagine Schools people take responsibility for the success of their students and their school community. We are excited to partner with parents, communities, and boards to deliver high quality education that prepares students for life-long success.
Programs and Services:
Educational Approach
At Imagine Schools, we strive to create opportunities for all students to be successful. We recognize that a “one size fits all” approach to education is not in the best interest of students and families, and that curriculum decisions should ultimately be made at the school level. Therefore, we make every effort to design our school’s educational program to match the needs and interests of the individual students and community we serve.
Some examples of the educational curriculum implemented in our school include
Imagine Schools Standards Dased Curriculum, Direct Instruction, Saxon Math, FOSS Science, Nystrom Social Studies, Write Connects & 6+1Traits.
We also provide a rich character education program as well as visual art, music, dance, drama and psychical education.
Despite many curricular approaches, there are distinct features that characterize and unite all Imagine schools. Each school operates based on Shared Values of integrity, justice and fun. In addition, the main standard of academic success is measured through concrete results and same-student learning gains.

Because we are passionate about constant improvement, we evaluate each of our schools and our organization by these measures of excellence.
Shared Values of integrity, justice, and fun allow every teacher, student, and parent associated with Imagine Schools to unite around common values that guide our collective behavior. All Imagine Schools employees read and study Joy at Work as they strive to live out our shared values.
Parent Choice and satisfaction are the most reliable indicators of the quality of our schools. More parents are choosing Imagine than any other charter school organization in the nation. Over seventy thousand parents can’t be wrong!
Academic Achievement is measured by student learning gains as well as proficiency. In 2007-08 Imagine Schools’ students on average gained an impressive one and a half years in reading and math. We offer students challenging, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes science, social studies, the arts, writing, thematic projects, and critical thinking as well as mastery of reading and math skills.
Positive Character Development is a high priority in our schools. We strive for growth in students’ character measured by positive changes in behavior and worldview. Forming a virtuous character is a central part of the educational experience for every student who attends an Imagine school.
Economic Sustainability means every school in our family is financially able to stand on its own, which is the best indicator of that school’s ability to continue educating children over the long term. At Imagine Schools we take living within our means very seriously, so that our schools will be strong and vibrant both for the children now enrolled and for their children.
New School Development enhances our ability to reach more children, more families, and more communities. As we increase our family of schools, more opportunities abound for Imagine Schools’ educators to grow professionally as well.
