Computer Capabilities:
Magee High School has a SMART Board in every classroom. There are 17 classrooms outfitted with two student computers earmarked for research and assessment purposes. Magee High School also provides its students 3 computer labs that will serve a total of 70 students. Additionally, Magee High School provides students opportunities for computer-based learning through agricultural science (AEST) classes and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) classes provided through our vocational technical program. Magee High School also utilzies the Dave Ramsey's program for personal finance in its business computer lab.

Enrollment Characteristics: Magee serves a population of approximately 500 students. Demographics are 55% black, 44% white, and 1% other.
School History:
Magee High School was first built in the early 1900's. In 1916 the first school house burned. A replacement school was built after the first building burned. This school building subsequently burned down in 1931. A new building was erected in 1939 to serve students in junior and senior high school. During these years the Magee High School mascot was known as the "Burheads." In fact, the Burheads from the 1946 Magee High School football team were the Middle Mississippi Champions. The first Magee High School team to play as the "Trojans" was the 1949 football team. Since that time many of the football teams at Magee High School have found success on the state championship level.
Magee High School is very proud of its academic programs as well. For several years, Magee High School has received the classification of successful. In 2012, Magee High School received the rating of High Performing - a B rating on the Mississippi School Accountability Model.
Notable Graduates:
Many of the Magee High School students have gone on to be very successful. Doctors, lawyers, military leaders, and of course teachers have come from the hallways of Magee High School. Most notably however are the professional athletes who have graduated from Magee High School. There are many including: John Mangum, John Mangum Jr., Chris Mangum, Harold Shaw, Eddie Shaw, and Justin Griffith.
Programs and Services:
Magee High School offers a plethora of programs and services to its student body. Magee High School has an All-Superior Band, a Forensics and Debate team, a Theatre Arts program, a girls Fast-Pitch softball team, boys Baseball team, girls and boys Basketball teams, girls Volleyball team, girls and boys Cross Country teams, girls and boys Track and Field teams, girls and boys Tennis teams, girls and boys Golf teams, girls and boys Soccer team, boys Football team.
