Computer Capabilities:
Three fully functioning computer labs, with more than 100 computers for student use. "The Rattler PIT" is Magnolia's state of the art technology lab. The lab is designed by teachers to be used for integrating technology with the daily curriculum. There are 60 Intel based Macintosh iMac computers making it possible to teach two separate classes or accommodate two classes working on the same project. It is a project based lab, meaning that teachers do not have assigned times, but sign up by projects. The main focus of the technology integration is to encourage students to be authors of multimedia projects.

Magnolia Intermediate School’s vision is one in which the staff, students and community work together to encourage responsibility, integrity and an enthusiasm for learning. We believe that the entire Magnolia Intermediate School staff must reach out to each student to ensure measurable academic achievement and growth in emotional maturity, physical well-being and social responsibility. In recognizing the individual needs of students, we believe we can best prepare the students for life after school by nurturing a strong value system, a productive work ethic and positive independent decision making skills.
School History:
Magnolia Intermediate School is located in a rural setting midway between the Sierra foothill towns of Auburn and Grass Valley, California, along historic Gold Rush Highway 49. Following redesign and conversion from an electronics manufacturing facility, the school opened its doors to students in 1975 and currently serves about 650 students in grades six through eight.
Programs and Services:
Elective Classes Offered -- Computer, Web Design, Choir, Band, Woodworking, Yearbook, Drama, Intro to Spanish using Rosetta Stone, Video Yearbook using , Visual Art, and Academic Workshop.
Grades online for parents and students. Teacher websites kept up to date by students in web design class. Listserve keeps parents informed about all school events via email.
