School History:
Built in 1997, Vail High School was created to provide parents and option to have their children educated in the Vail School District (we used to bus our high school students to neighboring districts). After 13 years as a tenant at the Univerisity of Arizona's Tech Park, we moved the school to be in compliance with the local Air Force Base's environzone. In planning for the new building we opted to expand it to a K-12 school and expand from 150-480 students.
Notes/School Information:
We have been very academically successful: each of the past 9 years we have received the highest ranking from the state of Arizona (Excelling or letter grade "A"). When we designed the new school, being environmentally friendly was very important to us. We strived for and received a rating of "L.E.E.D. GOLD" from the US Green Building Council. We have also been recgonized by the Arizona Education Foundation as an "A+ School of Excellence"TM.
