The Alexandria Central School District is located in the heart of the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River at Alexandria Bay, NY. This resort village is situated on the US-Canadian border, just 5 miles north of the Thousand Islands International Bridge and Interstate 81. It is approximately 28 miles north of Watertown and Fort Drum, 100 miles from Syracuse, and 30 miles down river from Kingston, Ontario Canada.
The District has a K-12 population of approximately 680 students housed in one building with a staff of 80 full time personnel. The school offers many extracurricular and interscholastic activities. Ninety percent of our graduates enroll in schools of higher learning. The school is considered the hub of the community where most civic, social, and cultural activities are scheduled.
Local opportunities in higher education are available at Jefferson Community College, SUNY Oswego, SUNY Potsdam, Syracuse University, St. Lawrence University, Clarkson University, and SUNY Canton College of Technology, as well as Queens University in Kingston, Ontario Canada.
Academics: NYS Regents curriculum, plus a wide variety of elective courses.
