Outline of Coaching:

Practice of Executive Functions: Individual will actively engage in practicing executive functions tailored to their goals and challenges. This could include tasks like planning, organization, time management, and self-regulation.

Learning and Application: While an individualmay be learning new skills, they may not immediately demonstrate complete independence in applying these skills. This is a natural part of the learning process, and our coaches are dedicated to supporting students until they can confidently apply these skills on their own.

Finding the Right Tools: Coaching is about finding the right tools and strategies that work best for each individual. Individuals will explore different techniques and gradually discovering what works most effectively for them.

At Connected Pathways Coaching, our focus is on progress, not perfection. We celebrate every step forward, knowing that each achievement is a testament to each indivudal's growth and resilience.

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

At Connected Pathways Coaching (CPC), we follow an Executive Function model that is tailored to each individual we work with. Our approach is data-driven, utilizing information gathered during intake and sessions to guide our coaching sessions effectively.

Key aspects of our coaching model include:

Data-Informed Sessions: We use data collected during intake assessments and ongoing sessions to identify and address specific challenges in executive functions. This data-driven approach allows us to customize strategies and interventions based on individual needs.

Strengths-Based Coaching: We believe in harnessing the strengths of each individual. Our coaching focuses on leveraging strengths to overcome challenges in executive functions, fostering a positive and empowering learning experience.

Collaborative Relationship: Coaching at CPC is a collaborative journey between coach and student. We work together to set goals, track progress, and navigate challenges, ensuring that the coaching experience is personalized and impactful.

Coach Training: All our coaches undergo rigorous training in Executive Function and Academic coaching. This equips them with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to support students effectively and facilitate meaningful growth.

Coaching is not a linear process; it's a journey of discovery and growth. Change takes time, and each child progresses at their own pace. Our coaches approach coaching like detectives, exploring a variety of techniques and strategies to find the right tools for each individual.

It's important to understand that some strategies will work wonderfully, while others may not yield immediate results. Here are two key factors to consider:

Developmental Readiness: Executive function (EF) skills continue to develop into a person's late twenties and early thirties. We consider if a student is developmentally ready to perform a skill independently, as this impacts their coaching journey.

Complex Challenges: Some students face additional challenges such as depression, anxiety, dyslexia, or dysgraphia. These challenges may require a longer coaching period as we work together to build essential skills.

At Connected Pathways Coaching, we focus on personalized support tailored to each child's unique needs and pace of development. Our goal is to empower every child to succeed, no matter the time it takes.

Testimonials:

"Giovanna has been truly exceptional in helping our 9 year-old son to improve his executive functioning skills. She has been patient and supportive throughout all the coaching sessions. Giovanna has taken the time to get to know our son, his weaknesses and strengths. She has taken what she has learned about him and has discovered ways to improve his focus and organization through checklists and has also shown him techniques to improve his willingness to be flexible. We really appreciate everything she has done."

"Mikaila is kind of wonderful. First she reminds us what our child is doing well. Second she supports us in helping him understand what we are telling him. She is part of our son's team".

To Maria: "I feel like we have our daughter back!! Words cannot express how grateful we are for all the support and guidance you have provided her over the past school year. I can say for certain she is in a much different and better place because of you. You truly have a gift for helping people!"

"I wanted to give you and your team a huge THANK YOU for everything you have done for my son. It really is remarkable. His grades have turned around, he is no longer overwhelmed by what he has to do and actually has a handle on what needs to be done and by when. The coaches and body doubles have been simply wonderful. He and I don't argue about his work, I follow up based on what I hear from Giovanna and somehow that doesn't cause friction. Because of Bek, Giovanna, and Monique, he has thrived."

You may remember coaching me 2+ years ago..I've been feeling the need to reach out and express my true gratitude for how much you helped change my attitude and organization. I shifted from struggling mentally and academically to accepting my differences and not letting them get in the way of my success. After my short time with you, I went on to take full advantage of my resources and actually finished my last two years of high school in stellar standing. I am now a freshman at JMU and continue to be thankful for the help I received and the skills that I learned from you.
