High Meadows School

High Meadows School students in Pre-K3 through 8th grade engage in wonder, discovery, and joyful learning every day on our 42-acre campus. High Meadows is a place where adventure, play, and discovery go hand-in-hand with extraordinary academic preparation and exemplary student outcomes. Our experiential approach to education honors the magic of childhood, blending inquiry-based learning, exploration, connection with nature, and strong academic development. Learning at High Meadows is active and meaningful. Students don't just absorb information and complete worksheets to move on to the next task; they investigate, create, and connect ideas in ways that foster a lifelong love of learning.

Exploration and play are intentionally woven into our program, alongside a culture that nurtures prepared learners, respectful community members, and confident participants in their own educational journey. From the earliest years in Pre-K all the way through Middle School, students are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and be active participants in their learning journey. Our curriculum is built on a foundation of respect for children's capabilities, best practices in progressive education, clear learning objectives, and a belief that education can and should be joyful, meaningful, and powerful. It's no wonder our graduates achieve so many amazing things and have fun along the way.

Academics at High Meadows are both rigorous and thoughtfully designed to meet students where they are while challenging them to grow. A strong foundation in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies is complemented by integrated studies that connect disciplines and deepen understanding. Students engage in inquiry-based learning, projects, research, and problem-solving that emphasize real-world application. Small class sizes allow teachers to differentiate instruction, ensuring each student is supported and appropriately challenged. High Meadows students graduate ready for success in the classroom and as leaders in their communities.

The High Meadows experience is enriched by distinctive programs that bring learning to life. Middle Years students participate in immersive six-week mini-courses, exploring topics such as avian embryology, gymnastics, and the World Peace Game, each designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding through hands-on experiences. Our nationally recognized debate program, with 22 consecutive state championships, empowers students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage thoughtfully with complex issues. At High Meadows, education is more than preparation--it's a journey of discovery, growth, and purpose.
