Lessons EXCEED the NATIONAL STANDARDS FOR THE VISUAL ARTS and $ 1 M was spent developing the curriculum. Abrakadoodle is a mobile arts education provider and provides a “turn key” operation bringing everything needed to your school to offer classes, camps and events.
Program Highlights:
Multicultural, mixed media art education classes, camps and events focused on process art. Students learn about contemporary and master artists, artistic techniques from around the world, and develop a vocabulary to discuss and appreciate art. Students take home a completed art project from every class. Washable, non-toxic art materials are used. Abrakadoodle’s proprietary curriculum is child-centered (based on Piaget’s work) and developmentally appropriate. Abrakadoodle has 7 years of curriculum so classes are not repeated. All employees have had professional background checks and sex offender checks completed. Enrollment for afterschool can be handled by the school or by Abrakadoodle (via the web, phone and/or mail). Flyers sent home so parents know what students are learning. Every piece of art work is labeled with an explanation of the lesson and what was taught. Many projects are framed with FrameDoodles. Abrakadoodle handles the set up, teaching the class and clean up. School needs to provide tables and chairs for the children to complete the artwork in an area where verbal instructions can be heard by the participants. Revenue sharing arrangement available. Abrakadoodle carries a $ 1 M liability umbrella insurance policy, worker’s compensation insurance and all teachers are required to carry automobile insurance.
Support Services:
Abrakadoodle trained teachers and teacher assistants provided
Activities:
A multitude of artistic techniques (mixed media, marbleizing, animation, 3D art, wax resist, collage, interposition, sgraffito, drawing, cartooning, embossing, batik, stippling, mosaic design, pottery, Portugese tiles, Ikebana sculptures, montage, printing, modeling, recyclable art, visual closure, cross hatching, mobile and MANY, MANY MORE) using a variety of art media (oil pastels, chalk pastels, watercolor paints, acrylic paints, tempera paints, Model Magic, mixing mediums, liquid watercolors, watercolor pencils, etc. and numerous specialty art materials)
