History:
The BRICKS 4 KIDZ model was created by Michelle Cote in St. Augustine, Florida. It all began
when Michelle started an after-school Spanish Class outside the school system. In the Spring of
2008 while filling out the forms to become a “School Board Vendor” teaching Spanish at the
school the following school year, Michelle noticed a category on the form for “Creative
Science.” Her son loves to play with LEGO bricks, and she thought to herself, “Maybe I could
lead a Creative Science LEGO bricks class too.” And that’s exactly what she did. The response
was so overwhelming that Michelle dropped the Spanish program and continued to expand and
develop the LEGO® classes.
Program Information:
Bricks 4 Kidz after school enrichment classes provide an exciting, innovative & challenging setting where kids discover, explore, invent, and create using LEGO® bricks. The students build mechanized LEGO® models that the students build, which help them develop and hone their STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) skills.
Throughout the course, Bricks 4 Kidz instructors provide the raw materials and expert guidance to stimulate the students’ interest in a world of learning that is not only educational but fun! The group setting encourages the students to build new and exciting creations inspired by their classmates. Each child will also create a customized LEGO® mini-figure from our mini-figure factory to take home at the end of the class session.
