Challenge Island is an International, and local, one-of-a-kind STEM/STEAM enrichment program with an interdisciplinary approach that turns kids into innovators, leaders, and big thinkers. Our after school program and on-site field trips are high energy, high interest, hands-on, fully aligned with Common Core, State, and Next Generation Science Standards as well as Social/Emotional Standards, giving kids 21st century skills they need to thrive.
History:
For the past 18 years, Challenge Island is an International educational enrichment program with over 100 locations in the USA and Worldwide. Founded by award-winning educator, author, and parenting/education journalist Sharon Estroff, Challenge Island is grounded in cutting edge educational thought and at the forefront of S.T.E.A.M. Education and 21st Century Learning. Entrepreneur Magazine ranks Challenge Island the #1 STEM education program on the 2019 Franchise 500 and has recently been featured in Insider and Parade Magazines as the top expert vetted virtual camps.

Field Trip Destinations: On-you-site field trips, brought to you by Certified Teachers, to hundreds of cross-curricular island "destinations"takes STEM/STEAM across the curriculum into Reading/ELA, Social Studies, Arts and much more.
Program Information:
Children are taken on a high energy, fun and engaging "island" adventure where they work hands-on, interactively in collaborative tribes to take on critical thinking challenges using only the materials in their treasure chest and their creativity.

Our programs are generally offered to elementary age kids as 1 - 1 ½ hour classes before and after school, 1 hour in school field trips, or 2 to 3-hour camps, but also provided to pre-school children as an extracurricular activity. Challenge Island is also nationwide partners with the Girls Scouts and Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and the recipient of the Parent's Choice Award in the elementary division.
