Program Information:
What is Construction Challenge?
Construction Challenge is an innovative career-education initiative designed to engage high school students with real-world, hands-on experiences in the construction industry. Through competition, youth teams explore key elements of the highly diverse industry such as new technologies, research, engineering, project management, product development, manufacturing, service support and career pathways. Construction Challenge integrates technical preparation and career exploration and builds upon standards-based school curriculum. It prepares students for post-secondary education and technical training for entry into the 21st-Century construction workforce.
Start a Team Today
Each team must register online to participate in a Regional Rally (paper registration form at www.constructionchallenge.org). The Construction Challenge Kit includes a Construction Challenge Overview, Rally Location and Schedule, Rally Challenge previews, Prep Challenges, Pre-Rally research, Rally forms and a Pre-Rally Survey. Construction Challenge Kits will be shipped to registered teams in November.
Team Requirement & Information
¨¨ All team members must be enrolled in high school (grades 9-12), or the equivalent in technical or vocational schools or homeschool.
¨¨ Each team must have at least five, but no more than seven, members.
¨¨ Each team must have a supervising adult Team Manager at least 21 years old.
¨¨ Teams must have the full support of their school administrations and parents for the Regional Rally and the Championship Finals.
¨¨ All teams that register must commit to fully participate in a Regional Rally and the Championship Finals.
Challenge Previews
Challenge 1: Using An Existing System As The Base, Teams Will Develop And Test New Transportation Infrastructure.
Challenge 2: Teams Will Design And Test A Water Infrastructure System To Improve Water Quality.
Challenge 3: Teams Will Research And Present A Critical, Local Infrastructure Issue To A Live Audience.
