Setting:
The Girls Inc. Center is located in the heart of downtown Lowell, on the edge of the Acre triangle, a neighborhood where almost every immigrant group coming to the city has first settled. It is in close proximity to public housing projects and the High School.
History:
Girls Incorporated of Greater Lowell has been in continuous existence since 1917 and operating at its present site since 1945, the same year it became a founding member of Girls Clubs of America, Inc. In 1990, the national organization changed its name to Girls Incorporated to better reflect the seriousness and educational value of its mission.
Program Highlights:
At Girls Inc. our out of school time, hands on programs and horizon-expanding experiences, delivered by professionals in a supportive, all-girl setting, equip girls to set goals, take on new challenges, and achieve their goals. Girls discover interests and abilities they never knew possible make the changes needed to complete each grade on time and well, and model healthy decision making with peers.

Activities:
In-house daily educational programs that are hands-on, local field trips within walking distance of our Center, as well as off-site field trips to various locations within New England.
Field Trip Destinations: Vary throughout the year. Some recent destinations included: Castle Island and Carson Beach, Strawberry Banke, Museum of Science, and George's Island.
