Black Leaders Againat Sex Trafficking, BLAST is a survivor led organization equipping schools with a comprehensive model that combines student engagement, educator and staff training, and immersive virtual reality experience. This approach is to design to strengthen awareness, sharpen decision making, reduce vulnerability to trafficking and most of all increase student retention.
Founded by Survivor Dr. Marlene Carson who has transition from lived experience in exploitation to serving as Chair of The U.S. Advisory Council on Trafficking, BLAST brings both expertise and real world insight to every engagement. Through the integration of social enterprise and social justice frameworks BLAST increases retention by connecting identity, purpose, and real world economic pathways within educational environments.
