Mission Statement:
Maximo Nivel strives to provide the best volunteer experience possible while creating the highest impact possible at each of our partner project sites.
Program History:
Maximo Nivel starting as a language school in Cusco, Peru in 2003. Founded by a husband and wife team, the program quickly grew to include Spanish and volunteering, as well as TEFL certification, and expanded to San Jose, Costa Rica in 2006 and Antigua, Guatemala in 2009.

Volunteers can participate in any of the following volunteer programs (some specific to one location):
- Childcare/orphanage
- Teaching English
- Construction
- Medical (with local clinics)
- Healthcare (with nursing homes, homes for HIV patients, disabled children or Autistic adults)
- Sustainable coffee farming
- Turtle conservation
- Animal care (with reptiles/amphibians, at a zoo or stray cats and dogs)
- Jungle conservation
- Environmental education
The minimum commitment is 1 week but volunteers can stay with us for up to a year. Additional Spanish classes can be arranged beyond the first 4 weeks.
