Mercer County Television (MCTV) channel 26 is a Educational-access television station in West Windsor, New Jersey, USA, owned and operated by Mercer County Community College (MCCC). The Student television station is transmitted to all of Mercer County, New Jersey, via cable TV channel 26 on the Comcast, Cablevision, reaching an excess of 90,000 households. In January 2009, MCTV became available on Verizon FiOS channel 20 in Mercer County. Tony Bruzaitis is the station's director of operations, while Professor Steve Voorhees is the director of student programming. David Valentino is the station's chief engineer.
MCN Live
On Thursday, October 21, 2004, Mercer County News Live (MCN Live), the official student news of MCCC, began at 5:30pm EST as the first student-produced program on MCTV. This twenty minute news broadcast was produced by Danielli Weiden and directed by Robert Mirabella. The first MCN Live featured presenters Sharon Seeman, Wilmar Luna, Christopher Curto and Antranig Deryan. The show continued live every Thursday.
Beginning in September 2005, MCN Live expanded to two live broadcasts a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30pm. In January 2006, MCN Live was honored by the Communicator Awards with an Honorable Mention in live cable news. More changes occurred in spring 2006, when the position of video producer was introduced to the staff. Beginning spring 2007, MCN Live went back to a single weekly broadcast on Thursdays because of expanding production demands in the studio.
