Advanced Placement Human Geography (also known as AP Human Geography, AP Geography, APHG, AP HuG, HGAP, AP Human Geo, or AP Human) is a course and examination offered by the College Board as part of the Advanced Placement Program in the USA.
This college-level course introduces students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth's surface. Students employ spatial concepts and landscape analyses to analyze human social organization and its environmental consequences. They also learn about the methods and tools geographers use in their science and practice.
The Exam
The exam is made up of two parts, each worth 50% of the final score. Each section is timed: the first section lasts 60 minutes, and the second section lasts 75 minutes. The first part of the exam consists of 75 multiple-choice questions. The second part has three free response questions, each of which has multiple parts. The exam is usually taken by freshmen in high school.

In the 2011 administration, 83,841 students took the exam and the mean score was a 2.61.
