Sally Ride Science

Sally Ride Science was founded in 2001 by Sally Ride, America's first woman in space, to develop and provide classroom materials, programs and professional development opportunities for K-12 educators. The company, based out of San Diego, California, maintains a strong focus on science, technology, engineering and math education among elementary and middle school students and the real-world applications of these concepts. The science books, student programs and professional development programs place a strong emphasis on gender and racial equality in the classroom and provide role models of working scientists, engineers and mathematicians who exemplify this diversity in their respective fields.
