Highlights:
My PRE-K assembly teaches Pre-K students about rhythm, rhyme, and poetry. During this action-packed presentation, each poem requires some type of participation or activity. Students act out poems with me, figure out poetry riddles, dance to the rhythm of my rhymes, become characters in my poems, and use their imaginations in unique ways. It's a wonderful way to introduce poetry to young people.
During my K-2nd grade assembly, I help students understand the meaning of poetry in ways they relate to. They figure out poetry riddles, act out poems with me, learn how to empower themselves with words, illustrate poems with their imaginations, and become characters (pretending to draw, paint, climb, drive, and fly) in my poems. It's a really fun assembly filled with uplifting messages and valuable life lessons.
My 3rd-5th grade assembly is designed to motivate students with poetry they relate to and understand. They discover how to paint pictures with words, turn ideas into something meaningful, make their poems and stories stand out, learn how to empower themselves with words, and use their imaginations in wondrous ways. My poems are funny, intriguing, and get students in the mood to think, draw, and write. It's a fun session for students and teachers alike.
My middle school assemblies are designed to motivate, educate, and demonstrate the incredible things that can be accomplished through hard work and perseverance. Through self-belief, determination, and dedication to my craft, I transformed myself from an unlikely writer into a professional poet. I share my passion with students and show them how I created a career with words.
Mission Statement:
My goal is to make poetry fun and exciting for people of all ages. I have a simplistic and humorous approach to literacy and education.
Philosophy/Belief Statement: I make poetry interesting, relatable, and entertaining for everyone. I also show them how powerful our words can be. We all have the power to make positive choices that shape our lives in wonderful ways.
Program History:
I've visited over 1,000 schools where I've transformed reluctant readers and writers into poetry fanatics.

Here's one of my poems:
MY DOGGY ATE MY ESSAY
My doggy ate my essay.
He picked up all my mail.
He cleaned my dirty closet
and dusted with his tail.
He straightened out my posters
and swept my wooden floor.
My parents almost fainted
when he fixed my bedroom door.
I did not try to stop him.
He made my windows shine.
My room looked like a palace,
and my dresser smelled like pine.
He fluffed up every pillow.
He folded all my clothes.
He even cleaned my fish tank
with a toothbrush and a hose.
I thought it was amazing
to see him use a broom.
I'm glad he ate my essay
on "How to Clean My Room."
