Program Highlights:
Becky's foundation (Beckfound) is a registered local non-profit organization located in Senya-Beraku, a very historic coastal town in Ghana. It was primarily established to provide loving kindness to the abandoned and orphans in Senya-Beraku and its surroundings. With tremendous support from family, friends, organizations and most notably international volunteers, a facility has been built to provide a comfortable home for 50 disadvantaged children and to take care of their everyday needs.
In addition to the orphanage, Beckfound also operates its own school (Becky's Preparatory School) and Becky's Soccer Academy. Beckfound's volunteering and internship operations in the local communities also help to support credible grassroot projects in healthcare, education, special needs, and community development. These are aimed at enhancing the sharing of experiences, resources, information, skills, as well as deepening inter-cultural relations/understanding and mutual respect.
Mission Statement:
To team up with like-minded people and organizations to empower unprivileged people and communities through sustainable projects in education, health, attitudinal changes, and skill training.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Becky's Foundation is determined to ensure its core values remain unchanged:
- We are God fearing, so we continue to draw inspiration from the unconditional loving kindness of God towards mankind.
- We endorse local and international laws with regard to the fundamental rights and protection of children.
- We are ethical, honest, and accountable in all aspects relating to our work.
- We are open to continuous learning, responsible partnerships, new ideas, and creativity towards steady positive growth.
Program History:
Seth Asiedu, a co-founder of Becky's Foundation, holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Education, Winneba. He is a God-fearing man and, as such, an elder of a church. Seth is happily married to Vivian, also a teacher and a co-founder of Beckfound, who has always been there for her husband, Seth, in every situation. They have been blessed with 4 lovely children (all boys). They are easy-going people who love singing, dancing, and spending time together with their family, and helping others.
In addition to being teachers in a small town, they are thereby known leaders and role models, and they have been heavily involved in matters concerning the youth and the community that they live in. With their rich experience in working with both local and international people to get things done, as well as their deep understanding about the issues at the grass-root level, you can always count on them for almost anything.
"We will not change helping children in difficult situations for anything else because, personally, we see nothing in the whole world being more fulfilling than uplifting others."
