Program Highlights:
Meeting new people and making new friends, becoming more involved in your local community, learning and developing new skills, making a difference and having fun! If you are 18 years or over and can communicate clearly in english (written and verbal) then you can apply. No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to give your time and energy. Daystar has a wide range of services and programs, each with different time commitment requirements. Daystar requires a minimum commitment of 2 weeks to 6 months for our Volunteer Program. Yes. We have volunteer opportunities with a couple of our services where the volunteer role requires only a few hours of your time on the weekend or weeknights. Yes. All applicants will meet with a Daystar Volunteer Coordinator for an informal interview to discuss opportunities and complete application paperwork via SKYPE, Phone Call or email exchange. You don't need any specialised skills to volunteer. Our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds, professions and ages with a wide range of skills and experiences. From students to retirees, professionals, and even people on working holiday visas. No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to give your time and energy. On the job training and support is provided.

A Long history of tradition and excellence in humanitarian work of providing Life Skills to neighboring communities during school holidays inspired the founder to start a holistic school of Daystar Junior School Kirombe, the scool started in February 2015.

Daystar Junior School Kirombe is a fully registered Nursery & Primary School located in Kampala District, Makindye Division in the slum areas of Lusaka Kirombe Zone 5 with an 8km drive from the city centre Kampala. Its medium-sized Nursery & Primary school for pupils aged 3 - 15(currently). It started in February 2015. The school provides a stimulating, creative, nurturing and dynamic learning environment that engages pupils to develop lifelong learning skills in an atmosphere of care, cooperation and respect.
