Mission Statement:
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The Tri-County Chapter was chartered in 1919, and has served communities in New Jersey’s Union, Somerset and Middlesex counties continuously since then.
Program History:
The chapter is responsible for providing assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to the more than half a million residents of 22 communities from highly urban areas such as Elizabeth and Plainfield to suburban communities such as Warren and Cranford. While the chapter is chartered by an Act of Congress, we receive no government funding outside of grants, and rely on the gifts of local individuals, businesses and organizations to provide our services.
Events:
We have a number of events organized by our chapter. You can follow us on Twitter at TriCoRedCross or check our our events calendar at http://www.tricountyredcross.org/calendar/calendar.html
