Mission Statement:
The non-profit Lake Erie Nature & Science Center educates and inspires each of us to understand, appreciate and take responsibility for our natural universe.
Program History:
This proven successful program has been in conjuction with Bay Village Schools for 10 years and Westlake schools for 2 years and is a great opportunity for anyone interested in sharing their love of reading with campers.
Events:
Wild Summer Reading Camp - We are looking for summer volunteers to read to and with children, assist with computer quizzes, journaling activities plus more!
Campers are children entering grades 1 - 4 attending Bay Village and Westlake Elementary Schools.
Days are divided in two shifts and volunteers may sign up for as many shifts as they would like or as few as four shifts.
Times for shifts are: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Training will be provided.
Additional Information:
This is a great opportunity for students to earn school service hours.
Volunteers will receive a certificate of accomplishment as well as a Pizza Appreciation Party at the end of the term.
