Join the San Diego River Park Foundation’s Clean and Green Team as we continue our mission to cleanup and restore the beautiful and historic San Diego River. Our river is one of the more polluted waterways in the country but with your help we can work to reverse years of littering and neglect and give the native plants and animals a trash free habitat in which to live. River cleanups are a fun, challenging and important activity to help give back to our environment. All tools and supplies are provided. The area we will focus on is quite beautiful for the most part but does have issues with trash and illegal dumping. For some reason some people think that it is ok to trash our wildlife preserves, but we will continue to cleanup this important area until it is trash free. Community service hours can be verified for those that need them. Be sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty and wear closed shoes, no sandals or flip-flops allowed for safety reasons. Volunteers will meet at the west side of Sefton Field located off of Hotel Circle Place. For more info call 619.297.7380 or email richard@sandiegoriver.org
