Mission Statement:
Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. (WID) is the only nationally accredited, state-certified, full service domestic violence center serving Broward County. Our mission is to stop domestic violence abuse for everyone through intervention, education and advocacy. Services include counseling, emergency shelter, respite care, advocacy/case management, 24-hour crisis line, referrals to emergency assistance, community and professional trainings, volunteer programs, and a thrift store. LOVE DOGS? NEED HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEER HOURS? We need volunteers to assist with registration, water stations, photo station and other activities during the Women in Distress of Broward County, Inc. SAFEWALK-RUN 5k, scheduled for Sat., Oct. 29 in Markham Park. This is an early event and your will earn at least 5 hours PLUS receive a commemorative tshirt and FREE MEAL coupon from Pollo Tropical® restaurants. Interested?
